Commentaire: Very few musicals of political-satire ever get beyond a fringe-type try out, but this one transferred from the prestigious Birmingham Rep and boasted one of the most talented and respected casts in London theatre. In spite of this, the general reaction was one of distaste and disdain for its feeble unfocused satire on soft targets. “Witless, weak and drab” was the verdict. (plus)
