Commentaire: The music was provided by members of the cast working as actor-musicians. The production was part of the celebrations to mark Stephen Sondheim’s 80 th birthday which fell during the run of this show, and was felt to be a worthwhile look at one of his earliest and least successful works. Commentaire: After a series of late-night, one-hour long cabarets at the Jermyn Street and Leicester Square Theatres in 2008, Garry Lake’s parody show – a kind of London version of “Forbidden Broadway” - was revised for three nights only at the New Players Theatre at Charing Cross. (plus)

Commentaire: First presented on the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2008, where the show developed a cult following with its kitsch pastiche and camp pun-filled dialogue. From the very opening with the company in purple and orange uniforms tap-dancing their way through the Safety Procedures, it was clear the reaction would be split – those who would scream along with the camp, and those who would make for the nearest emergency exit. The critics were neatly divided. (plus)
Presse: "Director/choreographer Luke Sheppard makes clever use of every inch of the theatre's intimate space and drives the action along at the perfect pace throughout. Everything about his production is slick, smooth and sophisticated." Broadway World
"Jet Set Go! is one of those rare, unexpected delights that enliven any Fringe... a production that's warm, funny and wonderfully scored... Without a note or step out of place" * * * * The Scotsman
"Director Luke Sheppard and musical director Candida Caldicot have done a superb job... absolutely air- and watertight choreography... Take Note Theatre have an absolute winner on their hands, and if you fancy a good night out and love musicals this one’s a must-see." Extra Extra

Commentaire: Following the original London production at the Bridewell, Sondheim permitted an off-Broadway staging which ran for 45 performances in Feb/March 2000. For the Broadway version Sondheim incorporated two new song/scenes, "Delighted, I'm Sure" and "Montana Chem", did some revisions to the original book, and some new musical arrangements by Jonathan Tunick. This London revival was the UK premiere of the revised off-Broadway score. After a month at the Jermyn Street Theatre it transferred to the Arts Theatre for a further three weeks. (plus)
