Billie Holiday was a true artist of her day and rose as a social phenomenon in the 1950s. Her soulful, unique singing voice and her ability to boldly turn any material that she confronted into her own music made her a superstar of her time.
Remembered for her masterpieces, creativity, and vivacity, many of Holiday's songs are as well known today as they were decades ago. She was a dedicated artist who remained true to the very highest artistic ideals. No wonder Lester Young, that whimsical master of paraphrase, dubbed her “Lady Day.” She was truly a lady.
1 Lady Day peut-être considéré comme un juke-box musical autour de la musique de Billie Holliday
