Type de série: OriginalThéâtre: Above the Stag (Londres - Angleterre) Durée : 1 mois Nombre : Première Preview : jeudi 28 avril 2011Première : jeudi 28 avril 2011Dernière : dimanche 29 mai 2011Mise en scène : Tim McArthur • Chorégraphie : Tim McArthur • Producteur : Avec : Cast: Paul Brangan (John Saul), Josh Boyd-Rochford (Hammond/Abberline), Fanni Compton (Caroline), Adam Elliott (Ernest Thickbroom), Ashley Martin (Henry Newlove), Michael Anderson (Thomas Swinscow), Joe Sheffer (Lord Euston/Lord Somerset)Commentaires : Based on a true scandal, the story is narrated by John Saul and told in flashback. The songs are presented in a music-hall and vaudeville style and accompanied by an onstage three-piece band. With a cast of just seven doubling several roles, this led to some confusion as to who was supposed to be who at various points. The show itself was also criticised for not having a clear purpose: was it a camp entertainment, or a satire on Victorian hypocrisy ? It was felt to be unsatisfactory on both counts.
