Commentaires : This production opened at Stratford on Avon in January and then did a short tour before arriving in the West End. It played the Old Vic from May to December (with a two week break in August) and then transferred to the Savoy for a further 7 months. Cast changes for the transfer to the Savoy included Tim Flavin, Nicola McAuliffe, James Smillie, and Berwick Kaler.

Commentaires : This was a transfer from Broadway, with Marin Mazzie and Michael Berresse repeating the roles they had played in New York, where the show had opened in November 1999 and run for 881 performances. (The show interpolates one extra Cole Porter song - “From this Moment On”). It won several awards on Broadway and was lavishly praised by the London critics. It closed on August 24th after nearly ten months.

Co-produced with the Welsh National Opera, it played as part of the the celebrations of Shakespeare 400 and opened at the Leeds Grand Theatre in September 2015 before touring to Theatre Royal Newcastle, The Lowry Salford, and Theatre Royal Nottingham. The production returns to the Leeds Grand Theatre in May 2018.
