Genèse:

Résumé: L’intrigue un peu déroutante concernait une héritière américaine Querida (Susan Miller) ayant vécu sur une île des Caraïbes et qui se trouve à New York pour rendre visite à son parrain (et chaperon) Hugh Dillingham (Jerry Lester), qu’elle n’a jamais rencontré. Hugh a temporairement emménagé dans l’appartement de son demi-frère Damon Dillingham (Jack Whiting), chef d’orchestre capricieux, qui est en pleine dispute avec sa fiancée Willow (Toni Gilman). Quand Querida présume que Damon est son parrain, ce dernier décide de ne pas démentir cette erreur. Mais Willow rôde toujours et l'humour du spectacle provient des efforts de Hugh pour empêcher Querida et Willow de se rencontrer. De plus, il y avait beaucoup d’effets comiques lié à la volonté de faire passer des membres de l’orchestre de jazz de Damon pour de riches mondains de Manhattan. Et aussi la volonté de faire passer le comique Romo Vincent comme agent de casting…
