Musical (1943)

Musique: Vernon Duke

Production à la création:

Dancing in the Streets told the familiar story from a musical-comedy perspective, but unfortunately it closed after the second week of its Boston tryout and canceled its scheduled May opening on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre.

Today Dancing in the Streets is most likely remembered as the show Mary Martin chose to do after turning down an item called Away We Go!, which later changed its name to Oklahoma! (for one week during March 1943, the Boston tryouts of both musicals overlapped). But Mary Martin was destined for a date with the Imperial, and later in the year she opened there in the title role of the hit musical One Touch of Venus.

1 Dancing in the Streets peut-être considéré comme un Flop musical
