Commentaires : Based on the 1910 novel “Le Fantome de l’Opera” ” by Gaston Leroux, “Phantom” began previews on September 27, 1986 and opened on October 9th. The production, still playing at Her Majesty's, celebrated its 24th anniversary in October 2010 and its 10,000th performance at the matinee on 23rd October 2010. It is the second longest-running West End musical in history behind Les Miserables.
“Phantom” won the 1986 Olivier and the 1988 Tony Award for Best Musical, and Michael Crawford won the Best Performer Award at both ceremonies. The show has been seen in 149 cities in 25 countries, and has played to over 100 million people. With total worldwide box office sales of over £3.5 billion it is the highest-grossing entertainment event of all time. The New York production alone has grossed US $800 million, making it the most financially successful Broadway show in history.
During its 25 years (and still running) in London, notable replacements in the role of Phantom have been Dave Willetts, Martin Smith, Peter Karrie, Peter Polycarpou, Simon Bowman, Peter Cousens, Mike Sterling, John Owen-Jones, Ramin Karimloo, and Nic Greenshields.
Replacement Christines have included Claire Moore, Rebecca Caine, Myra Malmberg, Rachel Barrell, Leila Benn Haerris, Robyn North and Gina Beck.
Replacement Raouls have included Michael Ball, Robert Meadmore, John Barrowman, Simon Burke, Clive Carter, Simon Bowman, Ramin Karimloo and Oliver Thornton.

Lors de la première du musical (29/6/1990), correspondant à l'ouverture officiele du Neue Flora, de très violentes maniferstations se sont déroulées: 3.500 policiers mobilisés pour ^rotéger le théâtre et ses spectateurs. Plus de 1.000 manifestants ont fait de très louirds dégâts (destruction de voiture, de mobilier urbain)et ont canardé les spectateurs de peinture, de fruits pourris et d'œufs pourris.

Commentaires longs: The US Tour of the Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc. production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom Of The Opera, directed by Harold Prince, celebrated its 15th anniversary on December 13, 2007 when it reached performance number 6,139 during its 5th Chicago engagement at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. A gala celebration, hosted by the producers for the entire touring company, took place in Chicago on Sunday evening, December 16, to commemorate this milestone event. The US Tour opened at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle on December 13, 1992. To date, 73 cities in North America have hosted 179 engagements of the show.

Commentaires : Dimanche 25 septembre matin, un peu avant 9h, un début d’incendie s’est déclaré dans les soussols du Théâtre Mogador.
Grâce à l’intervention des équipes sur place et des systèmes de sécurité, les sapeurspompiers ont pu maîtriser le sinistre dès la fin de matinée et aucune victime n’est, fort heureusement, à déplorer.
Le plancher de la scène et des éléments de décors sont en partie endommagés. Une expertise est en cours pour évaluer les conditions de remise en état des éléments.
La première du Fantôme de l’Opéra, initialement prévue le 13 octobre 2016, est annulée, le théâtre est fermé au public jusqu’à nouvelle information.
Les spectateurs ayant déjà acquis un billet pourront contacter leurs points de vente habituels pour demander le remboursement de leur réservation; pour les billets achetés sur le site www.lefantomedelopera.com ou à la caisse du théâtre, ils sont invités à appeler le 01 53 33 45 30.
