Résumé: Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning masterpiece captures one fateful summer's day in the life of the Tyrones, a family tied together by a lifetime of secrets. Haunted by the past but unable to face the truth of the present, James and Mary Tyrone and their two sons test the bonds of family caught in a cycle of love and resentment. However, as day turns to night and each member of the family indulges in their vices, the truth unravels leaving behind a quartet of ruined lives.

Commentaires : Written in 1956, Long Day’s Journey Into Night is a semi-autobiographical piece based on O’Neill’s own home life and family.

Suchet, who leads the cast of Long Day’s Journey Into Night, is best known to the world for his screen portrayal of Agatha Christie’s Belgian detective Poirot. The actor, appointed a CBE for his services to drama in the 2011 New Year’s Honours List, has London stage credits including All My Sons, Complicit and Last Confession.
